The world been going crazy over the Apple tablet iPad but I have been more excited for other tablets in particular this one. Unfortunately Microsoft announced today that the device will no longer be developed. Here is a video and an image of the device. A device which could of actually been useful.
Here is Microsoft’s reason for cancelling the device:
At any given time, across any of our business groups, there are new ideas being investigated, tested, and incubated. It’s in Microsoft’s DNA to continually develop and incubate new technologies to foster productivity and creativity. The “Courier” project is an example of this type of effort and its technologies will be evaluated for use in future Microsoft offerings, but we have no plans to build such a device at this time.

im not really into tablets. for now i havent found a good and efficient use for them. a laptop can do all the things a tablet can do and more.
it doesnt really make a difference if microsoft will stop production with this product. many other companies are launching their own tablet so there will still be a variety to choose from.

I agree I still haven’t found the point of having a tablet. Maybe for watching movies but for that I still prefer a PC or TV. Though this device would of been more useful than the devices that are coming out.
Apple solution is just an over sized iPhone and most of the other solutions either modify Windows 7 or Android.
This device would of had a specially designed OS for the job. Which would of made it useful.
