About

Hello, I am Malcolm Micallef and I developed this site to promote my ideas on unsuspecting souls and to showcase my work.

At the moment I feel like I am 8 again writing an essay about myself but I shall try my best and not make it too long or boring.

I am 22 years old, fresh out of university and currently working full-time on a big project on the island of Malta. This project involves developing a system using SAP to handle the management of electricity and water for the whole island. By the end of the project every household in Malta would have a smart meter, which would be in constant contact with the system so people will be able to view their usage real time and pay their bills online through a portal.

I am a keen technologist; in fact I graduated from the University of Malta with a BSc (HONS) in Information technology. My obsession in technology started at a very young age. When my hand was capable of holding a screw driver a calculator had already fallen in battle against this obsession. Since then anything that involved Maths and Science was always of interest to me. This obsession started because of my parents always buying new gadgets which either entertained them or made life simpler.

Throughout my studies I was working as a freelance web developer or a web developer for an accomplished company on Malta. However, I have done other projects in the meantime for fun and for prize money. Hopefully someday all the projects I have worked on would be found on this site. One of my funniest project was working on a line follow robot for a competition organized by the engineering department of the University of Malta with a very good friend (click here for more details).

When I was 9  my father was developing his own website about Chelsea (for those who know him they won’t be surprised by the topic of the site but the actual fact that he made a website!!). He taught me everything he knew about websites, which at that time involved a yellow file full of HTML code and examples, and I have never stopped developing web sites since then. Unfortunately, once my father noticed he had free website labour in the shape of a 12 year old kid he stopped working on his site and stopped developing websites.

Apart from technology my other hobbies include a number of sports. My favourite from all these sports would have to be football, squash and tennis. I would describe myself as a well skilled football and squash player but my tennis skills leave much to be desired for. If anyone is interested in organizing a game for any of the sports feel free to contact me I am always looking for new partners :)
