The picture on the left looks like a scene from a teen movie or a lonely guy’s bed side table but bear with me. Instructables highlights an inexpensive method for refurbishing your old disks back into a usable state. The solution involves a dab of Vaseline (or any type of petroleum jelly).

Using a soft cloth, petroleum jelly your old scratched CDs could become fully functional again for you. However, I have heard rumours that you can use bananas and toothpaste to fix your discs. If anyone uses this method please inform me if it worked. I have already thrown out my scratched discs. I had a VR game and a Sonic the hedgehog emulator on CD and they are gone forever
